Start a May Day Tradition of your own!
We all know that May 1st is May Day but how many of us know what that means? According to NetGlimpse, May 1st is exactly a half a year from November 1st (All Saints Day) and marks the end of the winter half of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and the start of the summer half of the year. There are many variations on celebrations, but the common theme revolves around flowers.
One of the most common traditions involve hanging flowers or other small gift on a friend or neighbor’s door. The trick is to not get caught so that they have to guess who left the flowers. If you do get caught, you’re supposed to get a kiss.
About.com has a cute craft that any child can make and then leave for May Day. However, if you don’t have time then Out of the Blue Delivered has several fun inexpensive gifts that can be delivered as a May Day surprise!
